ATEEZ’s “BAD” opens GOLDEN HOUR : Part.5, the five-track mini album released on June 26, 2026. It also has a later Japanese version, issued on a separate single with a different track list. That distinction matters when moving from the official “BAD” MV to the group’s recordings: the similarly named releases are not interchangeable album packages.

BAD sets up the album’s musical direction

The official discography places “MAMACITA” after “BAD,” followed by “TOXIN,” “Fallin’” and “Body.” Listening beyond the opening song gives a broader picture of the EP than the lead video alone.

Apple Music’s editorial notes describe “BAD” as phonk-infused and “MAMACITA” as Latin trap, situating the album within ATEEZ’s continuing interest in Latin-influenced sounds. The notes point to “ARRIBA” and “Blind” as earlier examples, so this is presented as a developing interest rather than an entirely new direction.

The same commentary distinguishes the R&B of “TOXIN” and “Body” from the EDM-grunge character of “Fallin’.” These are the platform’s critical descriptions, not claims about the members’ private intentions. They offer a useful listening route: start with “BAD,” continue into “MAMACITA,” then hear how the later tracks change the album’s texture.

The Japanese single changes more than the release date

Universal Music Japan’s release notice identifies BAD (Japanese Ver.) as ATEEZ’s fifth Japanese single, released July 29, 2026. Its common CD track list contains “BAD (Japanese Ver.),” “Seeker” and “HIGHER,” followed by instrumentals of all three.

That is a different release from the June mini album. “Seeker” and “HIGHER” are on this single’s track list; they are not among the five tracks listed for GOLDEN HOUR : Part.5. For an international listener choosing where to begin, the mini album supplies the original album context, while the Japanese single supplies the Japanese version and its companion songs.
